Reach Cambridge

Reach Cambridge (est. 2004) specialises in offering a range of residential summer academic programs in Cambridge and online courses for international teenagers aged 14 to 18 years old. We are most proud of the fact that many of our students come from personal referrals through family, friends, schools or agents, and many of our seasonal staff remain involved and connected to Reach in a variety of ways and return year on year.

Our mission is to enable students to prepare for the future by offering the international experience of a lifetime within a fun, nurturing and academically enriching community and we work with an incredible team of people within and outside of the organisation in order to achieve that goal.

Marketing Coordinator

As the company’s Marketing Coordinator you will be making a direct and highly visible contribution to presenting the UK and Cambridge university as an attractive destination of choice for the parents and teachers of 14 to 18 year-old students from around the world.  They have a great time receiving academic tuition, accessing research and engaging in group activities, excursions, and social events. Yours will be a wide-ranging brief, with plenty of space to use your energy, creativity and skills to develop effective strategies, plans and ideas across a wide range of marketing initiatives.

We would like to hear from marketing graduates who have a couple of years of experience and who wish to develop their professional capabilities. You will be based at home but required to attend monthly meetings in Cambridge, and able to commit to attending our summer school programmes. Some international travel may be required in order to consolidate new and existing relationships with schools and agencies overseas.

Job Description 

As Marketing Coordinator, you will be central to the company’s marketing and sales function, with a wide range of interesting and business-critical responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate key elements of our marketing campaign including the company’s online presence, marketing materials and website.
  2. Perform the critically important ambassadorial role of presenting the company and its amazing offering to schools, parents and agencies overseas.
  3. Successfully plan and undertake business development trips worldwide, focusing on nurturing existing and building new relationships with schools, agents and families.
  4. Contribute to the development of our CRM system, including efficient and effective personal contact via phone or email, and other regular communications and promotions to agents, schools and families.
  5. Actively contribute to the company’s marketing strategy.
  6. Coordinate, plan and oversee our regular content creation throughout the year, including social media posts, newsletters and blogs.
  7. Increase brand awareness and student numbers to our summer programmes by developing new, novel and brave marketing ideas and initiatives.
  8. Engage with our students during the summer programmes to determine the effectiveness of our various sales and marketing strategies, and apply lessons learned to improve future initiatives.
  9. Help support the general administrative functions of the marketing and sales team, including the Assistant Director, Business Operations Manager, Managing Director and other senior managers.

Knowledge:

  • International Marketing Strategies: Understanding global market trends in travel and education and cultural differences.
  • Education Industry Trends: Familiarity with the education sector, including what schools and parents might expect from sending their children to the UK for a summer experience.
  • Digital Marketing: Knowledge of online marketing channels, including social media, SEO, content marketing, and email campaigns.
  • Market Research: Ability to analyse data and market needs to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Brand Development: Understanding how to build and maintain a strong brand identity in different markets

Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills to create compelling messaging and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Project Management: Ability to coordinate multiple projects, manage timelines, and work with various stakeholders.
  • Cross-Cultural Competence: Skills in working with diverse cultures and understanding their unique needs and preferences.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess data and metrics to inform marketing strategies and measure success.
  • Creativity: Innovation in campaign development to effectively attract and retain international students.

Experience:

  • Marketing Experience: Previous roles in marketing or communications, ideally with experience related to education, the hospitality sector and international services.
  • International Exposure: Experience living, studying, or working abroad, or within multicultural environments that foster global perspective.
  • Campaign Management: Proven track record of planning and executing successful marketing campaigns or events.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with various departments (e.g., admissions, academic staff) to align marketing initiatives with organisational goals.
  • Use of Marketing Tools: Familiarity with marketing software (CRM, email marketing platforms, analytics tools) to streamline processes and evaluate campaigns.
  • University Experience: Knowing what it is like living and learning in a residential higher education setting.

  • Networking abilities to build partnerships with agents or other educational institutions.
  • Continuous professional development to stay updated on marketing trends and educational policies globally.
