Reach Cambridge July 2015: Day 19

Time flies when you’re having fun, and the Reach Cambridge July 2015 Program went very quickly indeed! It only seems like yesterday that all of the students were arriving, playing icebreakers to learn each other’s names, and going on tours of the city to get their bearings. Today they finished classes,  packed up their rooms, and headed to the Departure Party, having explored Cambridge and made a bunch of new friends from all around the world. The Departure Party was held in the Cambridge Union, a historic building that has played host to many important figures, from the Dalai Lama to Winston Churchill. Our lovely Heads of Pastoral Care team had decorated it beautifully, with huge banners, balloons, fun photo booth props, games, snacks – everything you could want! One of the biggest events of the evening was the Certificate Ceremony, as all of the students were presented with a certificate to commemorate their time at Reach Cambridge, along with a report from their teachers. There was also a chance to thank all of the supervisors for their amazing work over the past three weeks, and in return they gave everyone an unexpected but delightful treat – a performance of Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ dance! What a multitalented bunch. There was just time for the annual slideshow, with pictures and videos of the program, before the disco began! All of the students and staff spent the rest of the evening dancing together – what a wonderful way to end a brilliant three weeks. Written by Flossie, Program Coordinator
