The Reach Team visit Jordan
After a great visit to Istanbul the Reach Cambridge world tour continued eastwards into Jordan, where we caught the ends of a snowstorm that had swept through Turkey and across the Middle East.
Luckily the weather didn’t cause any disruption to the school visits during our time in Amman, and we managed to visit many schools across the capital to talk about the summer programs with teachers, pupils and parents. As always Jordanian hospitality was a highlight of the visit, and we spent a wonderful few days driving around the capital and trying many different cafés and restaurants. A visit to Falafel Al-Quds was a particular highlight, along with several gigantic plates of mansaf and plenty of hummus.
While we sadly weren’t able to venture south to see Petra or the Dead Sea, there was time to explore downtown Amman. This included a visit to the Roman Amphitheatre, King Abdullah I mosque, and the citadel, which provided us with some beautiful views over the capital. Each year we have several students join us from Jordan, and it was great to spend some time during the visit chatting with pupils who had signed up for the 2015 programs, and explaining what the summer held in store.
Many thanks to everyone who met us during the trip to Jordan, we hope to visit you again in the future!
