Student Leen looks forward to Reach Cambridge 2015

“Maybe you’ll learn how to read minds,” was what my cousin told me when I broke the news of me going to study psychology at Reach Cambridge this August. Ever since the first Harry Potter movie came out, my cousin had been a Hogwarts fanatic, and me going to a university that resembles Hogwarts made him very excited for me. That aside, I am eager to visit Cambridge for the first time and to study in the infamous university. I honestly chose psychology because it was the topic I knew the least about. I believe that taking a course in psychology at least once is essential for any career, and realizing that I don’t know much about it motivated me to leave my comfort zone and go for something new. Learning new things like psychology (or potentially how to read minds) are only some of the things I am most excited about. I want to explore a new setting that is different from the one I am used to. I am also excited about what everyone else is excited about: meeting new people. It has probably been said millions of times, but the nature of the camp is to attract diversity, and that sounds rather appealing. Other than that, I am thrilled to be able to experience a college setting for the first time. I can’t wait until it’s August, minus the airport scene -I am not too thrilled about planes, but other than that, I know my summer will be memorable. By Leen, Reach Cambridge student August 2015
