Summer 2022: Program 1 - Day 6

The weekend is just around the corner and we are kicking it off with an excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle! After big breakfast in the college dining halls, we took the coach to our first stop  of Stratford-upon-Avon – where students were buzzing to have free time to explore a brand new location! The scenery was especially exciting for the English Literature and Creative Writing students, who got to see first hand where the legendary Shakespeare was born. After students enjoyed time exploring the city – including eating some ice cream from “Romeo & Gelato” – we then made our way to our second location – Warwick Castle!

Students were racing to get inside and to explore the whole grounds with the Horrible Histories Maze, gigantic, historical castle and of course the many shows going on throughout the day. Many students were seen playing around the grounds with their own plastic swords and knight helmets, creating their own core memories on such a beautiful, hot summer day!

Our new “knights” showing off their gear!

The true highlight of the day was the Birds of Prey show in the afternoon. The close-up experience of the elegant variety of birds had every student gasping and smiling – it was truly a sight to see! One the show was over, the students made their way back to Cambridge where they could spend the rest of their energy in the centre of town to discuss the activities of the day and enjoy a meal out with their friends! Today was truly a day to remember.
