Trip to Greenwich and seeing the Olympic Torch!

Team Greenwich had a fun day in London Town admiring the many sights from a relaxing boat cruise down the Thames! We dodged (most of!) the rain and had a great time looking round Greenwich and the National Maritime Museum. We also explored the Southbank with some people watching the various performances along the riverbank, which included a break-dancing rapper and lots of people dressed as the Queen! We had some free time in the afternoon where people bought lovely souvenirs for their friends and family back home while others went bowling in Country Hall and off to see the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. On return to Cambridge we got into the spirit of summer 2012 (even with the good old English weather!) by welcoming the Olympic Torch into Parker’s Peace and enjoying live performances from local community groups. There were also brilliant – some would say world class! – performances from us too in the Butterfield where we were singing lots of great hits on the Singstar! It was good practice for the upcoming Reach talent show! Overall a fun-filled day that kicked off the weekend in style and left everyone feeling excited for the trip to Brighton on the following day.
