Spring 2018: Day 7
Last night’s end of week celebration meal and bowling was tinged with sadness, as this morning we bid goodbye to some of the students who had helped to make the first week so special.
However, we are incredibly lucky to be joined by some more brilliant young people from around the world. After being joined by our new arrivals, our remaining week one students were more than happy to introduce them to Cambridge City Centre, sharing their top tips from their experiences so far.
After an introductory lunch we gathered together to begin the Reach Cambridge Instagram Themed Scavenger Hunt. We formed teams and got competitive. Even the British weather could not stop them. Our students met friendly college porters and took pictures with the infamous King’s College Chapel along the way. Their wonderfully creative pictures can be found by searching #ReachSpring2018 on Instagram!
In the early afternoon, students attended a welcome talk for an overview of Week 2, followed by some excellent team building Icebreakers. Students traversed from one side of the room to the other using only 4 pieces of newspaper, built towers from skewers and blu-tac and played a quick game of Human Bingo – everlasting bonds made!
An excellent dinner at the Boathouse restaurant was enjoyed before an evening of chilled out fun and party games. Sketches were made, puzzle and problem solving tasks were completed and a fantastic time was had by all.
Tomorrow is a busy day for all students, with a trip to the local Ely Cathedral on the horizon, we head to bed to get a good night’s rest.
