It’s the second day of lessons at Reach Cambridge Program 2!
Today, the program group numbers grew as the final students were released from quarantine. The warm weather and new faces made for a bright and energetic atmosphere in the College as students went off to lessons with their new classmates!
As normal, after class students were given the opportunity to head to town or stay at College and participate in a number of group activities. On today’s activity roster there was debate club or sports on the Fitzwilliam College playing field. There were a lot of intellectual (and amicable) discussions as well as some good old fashioned friendly competition, which helped the students become even better acquainted.
A number of students also had an Introduction to Economics class which gave them a unique insight into the study of Economics at degree level. Coupled with their scheduled morning classes, these taster courses give the students a greater understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of many subjects and will hopefully prepare them for university applications in the not-so-distant future!
Once all of the students had returned from their afternoon activities or being in town, there was dinner at 6pm which most students enjoyed in the warmth of the evening sun on Tree Court at College. After dinner students had the opportunity to join in on a treasure hunt around the College or a Mario Kart tournament. Both activities proved to be very popular with the students and again brought that friendly competition spirit out of many of them. What a fun-filled day of Program 2, with many more to come!
