Residential study programs for 14-18 year olds in Cambridge, UK.
Program 2: Summer 2018 – Day 4
Today started off with a cool breeze and yet another sunny day, with classes going on as usual, apart from the English as a Second Language students who split off into other subjects for the day to put their improved English to the test. Some visited Biotechnology and others branched into Psychology to get a taste of something different.
As we drifted into the afternoon, the hype for the charity 5-a-side football match was almost electric – but perhaps a little too much, as a thunderstorm rolled in and we were blessed with the first drop of water in Cambridge in over a month! Unfortunately, this means this tournament is postponed for now, but is definitely happening so watch this space!
In the evening, the students had an informative lecture, by our own Anna Speedman, on interview skills – great advice for students (and supervisors) alike!
Post-lecture activities included a Personal Statement Workshop which gave tips for students for writing the all-important document to showcase themselves the best way possible to universities. At the same time, we had a Casino and Board Games night, involving some Poker and Cluedo, to allow the students to unwind and relax after another busy day. Hopefully they rest well for tomorrow – last day of classes this week and the exciting charity auction!
